“As a mother, having
the option of seeing my children on a weekly basis was the main
reason that I was even willing to receive the help I needed.
The Steele House worked with me and my family’s rigorous

group sessions and access to the program.
Whether in-state or out of state, individuals
may discharge completely and follow up with our Sober Tracking
services, whether on-line or via conference call as an option.
- Sober Tracking is 90 days
- Sober Tracking is where individuals:
-
Move home
or into an independent living situation
- Continue to receive:
- Off-Site Individual therapy
- Group therapy
- Family education
- Receive random drug and/or alcohol testing
- Continue mentoring with staff from The Joshua House/The Steele
House
Sober tracking is essential because it gives
individuals full independence while continuing to be held accountable
to a caring network that has assisted them in their recovery for
the previous 90 days.

SERVICES OFFERED
As the recovery process continues, individuals
receive continued support and guidance to gain necessary tools
for this level of care. It is an opportunity for individuals to
prove to themselves, and to others, that they have the ability
to maintain a healthy, balanced and sober lifestyle. The importance
of having the care and support of caring staff is imperative. Individuals
are given the proper amount of freedom to test the waters, while
having a safe place to call home.
Phase One is trust-based, with the belief that
trust is the greatest human motivator. Trust is re-enforced through
the program in a variety of ways. The importance of caring staff
to provide guidance regarding the balance of freedom and accountability
is essential. As trust is proven and earned, a new confidence comes
over the resident as they step toward independence.
Such an element is essential for long term sobriety.
The unique feature that ALPINE TREATMENT offers through The Steele
House is that individuals are given the proper time and space to
practice what they learn. In other words, they are able to live
a “normal life” while at The Steele House, while being
held accountable for their sobriety and goals. The intention of
The Steele House is not to pull individuals out of their families
or current situations completely. It is to take the necessary time
needed to re-build relationships that have been damaged, and allow
the individuals to slowly re-build their lives and re-gain their
independence.
The Steele House offers a “real world” experience
with the structure and support offered by the program, including
providing all:
- Bed and lodging
- Food – including a meal plan,
by a nutritionist, with a variety of healthy and nutritious
food choices
- Psychological-educational groups
- Access to Customized Individual therapy
- Family Program
- A shuttle service for all transportation needs
- Gym pass
- Resume building services
- Aid in filling out FAFSA for Financial Aid
- Contingency management (a reward based system where individuals
are rewarded for continued sobriety and milestones)
- Sober Activities:
- Tubing
- Rock climbing
- Hiking
- Fishing
The Steele House prides itself on anonymity
and security for each individual. During a stay, individuals can
expect to feel cared for, secure and safe – and know that their
identity will be protected.

WHAT TO EXPECT
The Steele House offers 6 beds – including
4 private rooms and 1 shared room; the interior of the facility
creates a soothing and tranquil environment – a perfect backdrop
for re-building. The Steele House is nestled among the beautiful
Rocky Mountains, minutes from the mouth of Provo Canyon.
At The Steele House we believe that implementing
a well-balanced diet is imperative during early sobriety. This
is why we incorporate a dietician approved menu. Although individuals
are ultimately responsible for preparing their own meals during
this Phase, they have the opportunity to work with caring staff
to teach them how to create healthy and nutritious meals. Each
client has the ability to utilize this meal plan during Phase 2.
The Steele House cares about answering all questions
and concerns that might arise. The program’s focus is on
guiding and inspiring individuals to gain the tools and confidence
necessary for a lifetime of sobriety. The number one goal of The
Steele House is to teach individuals how to enjoy and celebrate
life while continuing to be accountable and responsible for their
actions and reactions to life’s challenges.
The Steele House is committed to the sobriety
and recovery of each resident individually. The professional team
of ALPINE TREATMENT SERVICES offers expertise about the disease
of addiction, offering a strong support system for each individual.
Smoking is permitted at The Steele House. However,
individuals are required to smoke in designated outdoor areas only.
The Steele House holds to the belief that recovery
is not an event, but a process.
