What is the purpose of a residential transitional care
facility such as The Joshua House?
Residential transitional
care facilities allow individuals to:
- Gain the tools and skills needed for successful sobriety
- Practice those skills in a nurturing, caring and stable environment
- Have the time and space to choose sobriety long- term
These facilities play a key role in recovery because they act
not only as safe environment for those committed to recovery, but
also continue the therapeutic component. These facilities are a
place where one can learn and find strength from other recovering
addicts, from caring staff and from a devoted treatment team.
The Joshua House offers a home-like atmosphere which sets individuals
up to transition more smoothly toward total independence.

is this accomplished?
Providing a trust-based program, in an atmosphere
of encouragement, often makes the difference as an individual overcomes
addiction.
The program of The Joshua House is designed with the overall goal
of restoring these four components: Emotional
Resilience, Relationship Vitality, Mental Flexibility, and Physical
Wellbeing.
The purpose of a residential transitional
care facility is to allow individuals to demonstrate to themselves,
as well as to others, that they know how to use the tools they are
learning to function and live sober. The hope for each individual
is that they can take the environment of The Joshua House and mimic
it as they transition.
Who can live at The Joshua House?
Women 18+ who
are struggling with addiction (please see Therapeutic
Approach and have the desire to learn the skills and
tools necessary to become and remain sober. Our program works one
of two ways:
Our program is able to work with everyone.
The Joshua House serves individuals who are:
- In need of assistance and ongoing care to
overcome the disease of addiction, and are motivated to
receive the help and support they need
- Unable to completely break away from life,
yet still need support to overcome their addiction
Utah law requires that no one can enter The Joshua
House that has, “ever been convicted of the illegal manufacture
or distribution of a controlled substance” (Section 22-6-9,
A9) or has any kind of sexual conviction.
Individuals must be committed to strive for
independence and, although there is support from caring staff, each
individual must be able to care for themselves. Individuals are held
accountable for their actions, while the key focus is on self care
and continued sobriety.
What would a program like The Joshua House cost me?
The Joshua House is sensitive to loved ones who
are responsible for funding for treatment for individuals struggling
to overcome drug and alcohol addiction. That is why our prices
are affordable.

traditional drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers cost. Affordable

The Joshua House offers discounts to:
- Ecclesiastical leaders, such as Bishops, Pastors, etc
- Churches
- Military personnel
What are the requirements to live in The Joshua House?
The requirements for entering The Joshua House are that INDIVIDUALS:
- Must be female and 18+
- Must have the desire to become clean and sober
May not have their children or pets reside with them
